Precious Poetry is a collection of autobiographical poetry that reflects my Christian testimony of redemption, healing, and freedom in Jesus Christ.
Why Precious Poetry?
When I was five or six, I rescued a kitten from a cat hoarding house in my neighborhood. My parents let me keep her, and I named her Precious.
That name has stayed with me ever since. It connects me to my roots—and reminds me that all of God’s creatures are precious, because they belong to Him.
I believe the Lord knew my testimony before I was ever born. My prayer is that He would be glorified through my original poetry, and that what was once broken, including the fragmented parts of my soul, would become part of a story of trauma recovery and redemption.
Some poems in this collection of autobiographical poetry explore themes of early childhood neglect, coercion, and assault. Please read with discretion and care. While I employ metaphors and other literary tools, this collection is deeply personal, reflecting my Christian testimony and the fragmented parts of my soul as I navigate trauma recovery through original poetry.
If you know me personally, please do not continue if you are uncomfortable reading these intimate details of my story. For my brothers and sisters in Christ, I encourage you to invite the Holy Spirit to guide you as you delve into my testimony expressed through poetry.
May God bless you.
