Armor of God Poetry

Armor of God Poetry is a healing journey told through spiritual warfare—one piece of armor at a time.
These poems follow the fawn as she learns to stand again beside the Lamb: anchored in Truth, covered in Righteousness, and steadied by Peace.
This is not poetry meant to impress—it’s poetry meant to survive, testify, and worship.
“I love you, and you are Mine.”

11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Ephesians 6:11-20

He put on righteousness as his breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on his head; he put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak. Isaiah 59:17

The Fawn and the Lamb

May 8, 2025

Is the mask slipping?

Only to reveal another underneath

Is the fawn hiding?

Still and silent, trembling beneath.

Will she ever stop contorting?

Stand up tall and straight

Will the images ever stop distorting?

In this world she's trying to navigate

How can she fix her broken electricity?

When she doesn't have the proper tools

How can she live by authenticity?

When she always ends up feeling like a fool

Is she just being dramatic

Just for the sake of it?

Were those things really that traumatic

Or did she fake a bit?

Is she looping back to the start?

Gaslighting herself, again?

Is she building those familiar ramparts?

To hide behind, again?

How can she even trust her own self

When she has been erased and rewritten so many times

How does she know she's genuine when she asks for help

When for so long, her hands were tied

Fortunately, she has something now she didn't realize before -

Her identity in Christ as a child, yes, a child, of God

And now she's ready, ready for this spiritual war

No longer in silence, no longer a fraud.

Before, she knelt down to false idols who stole her youth

Now she has something better, stronger: the Belt of Truth.

Before, she was tricked and led through a gate - a gate of wretchedness.

But her savior smelted it down and handed her the Breastplate of Righteousness.

Before, in order to calm the hostiles, she learned to people-please

But now she's centered and ready, armed with the Gospel of Peace.

Before, she concealed herself to stay safe

But now, she holds firmly onto the Shield of Faith.

Before, she was just full of regrets and reservations

But now, she stands up straight and tall, wearing the Helmet of Salvation.

Before, her cries were ignored, even though others could hear it

But now, her cries come from the power of swinging the Sword of the Spirit.

And with all this- she has donned the full armor of the Most High God.

And she is ready, she is ready.

She bows her head with a reverent nod.

And her feet are planted, she is steady, she is steady.

The fawn and the lamb stand side-by-side

In the quiet meadow where fear subsides.

A voice softly and firmly states from all around and inside,

“I love you and you are Mine”.

She kneels down in prayer

“I love you too Lord, more than anything anywhere”

She can feel Him, the spirit in the air

“Lord I surrender all to you, please guide me there”.

“I love you,” the voice states firmly again

And she realizes there's nothing she needs to do, then

Just stand in the meadow beside the Lamb

And she whispers, “Amen. Amen. Amen”.

The Belt of Truth

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me by still waters. Psalm 23:1-2

June 11, 2025

The fawn and the Lamb stand side-by-side,

In the meadow where fear subsides.

All of a sudden, rain starts to pour

And sadly, she can't see the Lamb anymore

In the meadow, she feels stranded,

She looks down and sees she’s empty-handed.

She hears a sound and feels relief,

But glancing up—she’s met with grief.

She spins around in rising dread,

The enemy with spears ahead.

They edge in close, they poke, they jeer—

What can she feel besides her fear?

She breathes in, closes both her eyes:

“Do not fear, for I am with you…”

Her heart still quakes, her soul still cries—

“Do not be dismayed, for I am your God.”

She opens them, furious—she screams,

“I will not believe the enemy’s schemes!”

She throws her hands out and beams,

“For I am a child of the King of Kings!”

The enemy scatters, shrinks away,

Their sharpened spears begin to sway—

Then fall like dust to earth and clay.

“Go to the pit! And don’t forget your things!” she shrieks.

“Do not return—not on my own authority,

But on Jesus Christ, my Savior’s authority!”

When they are gone, she kneels and weeps,

Praising the Lord who never sleeps.

She lifts her eyes—He’s on the highest hill,

The Lamb who stood beside her still.

Gazing down with steadfast grace,

She feels the Belt now at her waist.

“Jesus, my Savior,” she whispers aloud,

“I’m sorry for my split-second feeling of doubt.

Your Truth has cast the darkness out”.

As we were going to a place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit of divination…She followed Paul and us, crying out, “these men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation.” and this kept going for many days. Paul, having become annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And it came out that very hour. Acts 16:16-18

The Breastplate of Righteousness

The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe. Proverbs 18:10

The fawn stands in the meadow, safe and free

Her eyes on the Lamb, atop of the Hillside

She's awestruck by His victory -

There's no need to freeze, fight, or flee,

For with the Holy Spirit, she abides.

She remembers

All of the dangers.

She remembers

All of the protections.

She kneels down,

Her eyes on the Lamb,

She completely surrenders.

Through all of her confessions,

Her heart softens

And she knows the LORD:

I AM WHO I AM.

She lets go of all the lies she's held close to her heart,

Strongholds she was tied to, right from the start

The level of deception from the enemy is severe,

But she trusts the Lamb,

And peels them away, layer by layer.

For she knows the LORD:

I AM WHO I AM.

And the LORD fills and repairs her heart,

Her sin and shame washed away by the Lamb on the hillside

And she feels the LORD'S righteousness engulf her,

Though undeserved, He still chose her,

He chose her

From before the very start,

That in His grace and mercy, she'll eternally abide.

"I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me in righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and a bride adorns herself with jewels.”\ Isaiah 61:10 (ESV)

The Shoes of the Gospel of Peace

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have loosened my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing Your praise and not be silent. Psalm 30:11-12

The fawn and the Lamb are playing in the meadow,

Dancing together around the stream;

Flowing with living water, pure and bright -

The fawn takes a drink, her soul washed in light.

She remembers, once, in a dream,

His promise:

“But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.

Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring,

Yes, a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

She pats her feet and spins,

He is so honest

Yet another promise kept, though hardly the first

So much joy He brings,

She's finally found peace after years of strife.

And she knows, He is all she needs.

After decades, lost and searching,

She is found, and beloved, and cherished

And she doesn't need to do anything,

Just be

Her entire being is nourished,

A soul, once dry, now gently flourished.

And she treasures His words, her heart at rest,

“The LORD, your God is in your midst,

A mighty one, who will save.

He will rejoice over you with gladness,

He will quiet you by His love,

He will exult over you with loud singing.”

He takes her gently by the wrists,

She pats her feet, her soul ablaze

Her bridegroom from up above,

And they are dancing,

And they are laughing,

And she is listening.

“Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory!

For the wedding of the Lamb has come,

And his bride has made herself ready.”

And this is a new beginning to their story

After everything, together, they overcome

He holds her, gently and so steady.

Shod with peace, she walks the land,

Each step guided by His hand,

Gone are the days of fear and flight,

Now she journeys in His light.

And now, beautiful upon the mountain, her feet -

Bringing good news, her joy complete.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phillipians 4:7
